Gravity
Today's topic is very attractive topic because its name is 'Gravitational Force'.So lets get started...,
What do we know about forces..?. We can called Force in brief as a simply pull or push on body due to mass and acceleration.
There are four types of forces are discovered at the Universe level till now.
1. The strong force.
2. Electromagnetism.
3. Weak force.
4. Gravitational force.
Above forces are written by their effectiveness in the Universe. Yes, the gigantic gravitational force is the weakest among all Universal forces. We'll discuss about other forces later.
Gravitational Force:
We all have a myth that the only earth or any other very high massed objects has Gravitational Force. But the fact contradicts it. Or some people has a myth that gravitational force means only falling, but this is also not truth. The gravitational force is a force that attracts any two objects with mass. Best example of gravitational force is that we can walk or sit on Earth. Now next time if you fell down, blame gravity...not anyone else.😜
One will think that why I am talking about too much myths and facts, because many people has a consideration in their mind and even they are not sure, they make themselves sure without any proof. Most people has above misbelieves about the Gravity. I hope that i have make you aware of Truth, fact, scientific proof.
Returning to our main topic,
Gravitational Force is simply the attraction produce in the space between two objects having mass(non zero mass). In fact, every object, including you, is pulling on every other object in the entire universe....!
Now let's talk about Dimensions.
We know that, Measurement in (only)length is 1D(1-Dimensional), measurement in length and width is 2D(2-Dimensional) and measurement in length, width and height is 3D(3-Dimensional).
We all live in third dimension. There are some theories that space time is fourth dimension but they are not proved yet.
There are some Scientists contributed to the discovery on Gravitational Force. Let's have a look at their theories.
On the question "Why do the objects fall down...?" many theories are written. One of the many famous theories on Gravity or on that question is given by,
1. Aristotle:
He feels that the Earth is flat. Around 2300 years ago, he considered that the Earth is the centre of our Solar system and sun is revolving around the Earth. This model is called 'Geocentric Model'. Whether it is not correct. it has very much importance in physics and further models of solar system. Answer on why objects fall down, he said that every object in the universe has its natural place. Like Equilibrium, if it is deflected at any other position it will come to its natural position. For visualisation, you can take a example of swing. He said that the natural place for most of the objects is an Earth. Another, he said that the heavier objects will reach on the ground earlier than lighter objects.
2. Nicolaus Copernicus:
He was the first who said that the Sun is in middle of our Solar system and Earth and other planets are revolving around the Sun. This model of Solar system is called 'Heliocentric Model'.
3. Galileo Galilei:
Before telling about his contribution in the discovery of Gravity, first let me tell you that the Sir Galileo is referred as 'The Father Of Modern Physics'.He was great. He was agreed to the Heliocentric Model of Nicolaus Copernicus. And he said that the two objects of different masses will reach to the ground on the same time. This statement definitely contradicts to the statement given by Aristotle. And later we found that the Sir Galileo was right.
4. Isaac Newton:
Who doesn't know about the famous story of Apple and Sir Newton. On motion, he said the statement 'An object at rest will stay at rest unless and until it is acted by some force.' This statement is also called as 'Inertia'. This is the Newton's first law of motion. He gave the 'Universal Law of Gravitation', which tells us that the every object attracts every other object in the Universe with a certain force. Generally, this force acts between the centres of two objects. This for This force varies with the mass of an object. As in the case of Apple, we noticed that the Earth is attracting the apple towards it but an apple is also attracting Earth toward Earth itself. Surely the attraction force of Earth is very larger than that of an apple. He written book named 'Principia' .In this book he said that the time is independent. It does not depends on any other quantity in the Universe. And he also said that the Gravity does not affect the speed of light(c).
5. Albert Einstein and Marcel Grossmann:
Sir Albert Einstein was a living legend of physics and maths. He is the Most intelligent person in 20th century. In 1915 Albert Einstein and his friend Marchell Grossman published the 'General Theory of relativity', which shakes the whole world. It was better understanding of Space and time. Sir Einstein also said that the time is depend on the Gravity and other terms. This theory was very shocking and unbelievable to accept by people.
Gravitational Waves:
'Gravitational waves are 'ripples' in space-time caused by some of the most violent and energetic processes in the Universe. These cosmic ripples would travel at the speed of light, carrying with them information about their origins, as well as clues to the nature of gravity itself'. Definitely this definition is very hard to understand. Let's simplify it. As we can say that the Gravity is the kind of energy then it must be a Wave. Actually the discovery on Gravitational waves is also very interesting topic to discuss. Particles present in the Gravitational Waves is called 'Gravitons'.
In 1916 Sir Albert Einstein predicted the existence of Gravitational Waves by his mathematical equations of General Theory of Relativity. He proposed that If two heavy objects in the space come then they will start revolving around each other and at the end they will collide into each other and merge. And this time they will release waves into space. These are Gravitational Waves. This wasn't proved yet. But at the 14 September 2015, billions of light years away, two black holes were revolving each other. And when they merged, they released waves which are travelling with the speed of light(c). This Waves are detected by LIGO(Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory). After almost 100 years later the theory given by Sir Albert Einstein was proved correct. After first time detection LIGO has detected 2 more times.
This was a brief history about the discovery about Gravitational force and contribution of many scientists....
If you are more curious about Importance of Gravity in our daily life then you can go and watch movie 'Gravity'. This movie will make you thankful for presence of Gravitational force....
Have a good day... 😄
