Isaac Newtonian GRAVITY...
Newtonian Gravity...
Gravity is the one of that mysteries which are still unsolved today. Today we are going to talk about the Genius, who has the management of High School's mechanics. He discovered Gravity but Google shows that he was a Mathematician. It is because his contribution in Mathematics is far more than the Discovery of Gravity. If you are not Science obsessed still you may have guessed that I'm talking about Sir Isaac Newton. He belongs to Common Family. And his biography is very interesting and inspiring. But here, we won't talk about it. Here, we'll discuss about his Discoveries And Contribution in Theoretical Physics.
Discoveries:
He discovered Law of Gravity, Laws of Motion in Theoretical physics and Very important discoveries in Optics like nature of Light etc. And in Mathematics, he discovered Binomial Theorem, Calculus, Newton-Raphson Method.
Movement of Massive bodies in Outer Space are fascinating people because they don't understand it well. Maybe you would also curious after hearing that the Things (like Planets and Stars) are moving in the Outer Space to get to know the reason behind it, to understand the Rules or Laws which they follows . I believe that you definitely would, because 'We Are Curious'.
Johannes Kepler:
Before Johannes Kepler, people believe that the orbits of Planets is Circular. But the Sir Kepler suggested that the Orbits of Planets are Elliptical not Circular. But the Kepler failed to explain the reason behind it.
But Sir Newton was very curious like us to find that...
What exactly is keeping them in contact with each other...?
Newton had idea that the the Force must be Centrifugal (means the Force attracting towards the Centre of the Object).
But the Sir Newton doesn't stop here, because he was Curious like us. He did a Thought Experiment. He assumed a Conon throwing the ball. As we all know, a ball will cover some distance in air and then will fall on the ground. He increased its Force of throwing. The ball will surely fall far from the First case. Then he consider that the Force of throwing aa incredibly large. A Case in which the ball won't hit the Ground and keep revolving around the Earth. It will always falling towards the Earth but will never hit the ground.
Of course, no Canon could produce such a huge force. But isn't his Thought Experiment seems very familiar to us. Yes, we see this in Rocket Science. We have Launch Vehicles who can produce such a large for to place Satellites in orbit of Earth or Any Other Planet. Till then, Sir Newton has realised that the Force attracting Planets and keep them in Orbit and the Force with which the things fall on the ground is same.
Here the Gravity discovered...
Gravitational Force describes how every object in The Universe moves or displaces. Further he said that the Every Object Having Mass Will Produce it's own Gravity. Yeah... The every object. Even you are attracting the device which you held and reading, and at the same time that device also attracting you (Not mentally, I mean physically...) towards it. You must be questioned that, if I am attracting my device then why can't I see that attraction. I know you have this question on your mind if you don't know. Because We Are Curious. It is because of the force is comparatively very small before the Force which with Earth is Attracting Objects towards it.
Newton described all his Observations and Conclusions in A Law and put it in front of World.
His Law States...
Every particle attracting every other particle in The Universe with a certain force. This Force is directly proportional to the Product of Masses of Two objects and Inversely proportional to the Square of Distance between them.
The Distance here mentioned is the Distance from the Centre of First body to the Centre of Second body. G is Gravitational Constant. Value of G ( 6.67 * 10^-11 Nm^2/Kg^2 ) is Same across the Universe.
To be more comfortable with it...
Let's take an example of Earth And Moon. We all already know that the moon has A Specific Orbit to follow whole revolving around the Earth. This orbit is Fixed because of Gravitational Force of Earth.
We Are curious.
Hence you asked me that If Earth is Attracting the Moon towards its Centre, then why moon doesn't collapse on the Earth like ball or an Apple. It is because the Mass of the Newton's Third Law of motion. If you are not aware about Newton's Laws of Motion, then it is nothing to worry about. We will be explaining this Laws further.
By the Third Law of Motion, the force with which Earth Attracts the Moon, At the same time Moon is also Attracting the Earth. Due to this Moon can move in its Orbit
We Are Curious.
Hence you asked me another interesting question.
Why the Moon is revolving around Earth, why not Earth is revolving around Moon. Answer of your question is in the Second Law of Motion. Second Law of Motion says that the " Force = Mass * Acceleration " It means the " Acceleration = Force / Mass ". Formula says that the Acceleration is very small for the Earth compare to The Acceleration of Moon.
Ancient Indian :
We all know the Gravity is discovered by Newton. But there is is an saying that the Before 1200 years of Newton, Indian Mathematician and Physician 'Bhaskaracharya'.He has a Great contribution in today's Maths and Physics. He wrote a Famous book called 'Sidhhant Shiromani' ( सिद्धांत शिरोमणी ). It is a huge book. Hence he decided it into four parts, which are 'Leelavati' ( लीलावती ), 'Algebra' ( बीजगणित ), 'Astronomy' ( गोलाध्याय ), 'Planetary Mathematics' ( ग्रहगणित ). 'Leelavati' is vary important for Astrology and Mathematics. This books have proof that the Gravity is discovered in India. But this is not officially confirmed. He writes in his book....
It means that, Earth has its Attraction Force. With this Force, earth attracts objects towards it, and due to this they fall on ground. But if Same Force is acting in Space from every direction, then how will anything fall down.
If you are more Curious about it then you can watch a movie 'ARRIVAL'.
That's it for today. Thank You
Regards,
Have a good day...
